Lift Every Voice is an interactive sculpture reminiscent of a wind chime and a harp. On each of the wooden clappers is engraved the name of a Black person who was wrongfully killed by the police. The viewer is invited to evoke the sounds of this piece - by running their hands along the copper pipes and wood clappers - allowing the proverbial voices of the killed to raise into the atmosphere. The sounds emanate throughout the exhibition space, reminding all within earshot not only that those voices will remain even without their acknowledgement; the choir of voices remains as an auditory afterimage and continues to collect voices of those whose lives are stolen.
